I occasionally get emails, mostly questions related to my papers, lizard brain anatomy, and lizard brain methods. I thought I’d start posting them here with my answers. Other people might have the same questions, and this way the answers can hopefully be found easily online.
Here’s one I received recently:

Dear Dr. Hoops,
Hope this email finds you well.
Sorry to bother you. I’m working on segmentation of lizard brain for a project and finds your paper on lizard brain atlas very helpful. Thank you for your great work. But I cannot access to the data on biocular https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/epdf/10.1002/wiley.biolucida.net which you said all your dataset will be put on.
Do you have them listed somewhere else for downloading?
Thank you very much in advance!
Looking forward to your reply!
Best wishes,,
This email is referring to the supplementary materials for this paper:
Hoops D, Desfilis E, Ullmann JFP, Janke AL, Stait-Gardner T, Devenyi G, Price WS, Medina L, Whiting MJ, Keogh JS. (2018) A 3D MRI-based model of a lizard brain. The Journal of Comparative Neurology, 526(16): 2511-2547. 10.1002/cne.24480
The supplementary materials consist of two 3D images: an MRI model of the Ctenophorus decresii brain, and an MRI image of a C. decresii head. They were supposed to be available in perpetuity at https://wiley.biolucida.net/, however I visited the site today and I couldn’t find them.
To make these images available, I have created a page for this paper on the Open Science Framework at OSF | A 3D MRI-based atlas of a lizard brain. I have uploaded the two 3D images as well as the paper and the atlas as PDFs. I hope this proves useful!
Please send me an inquires you might have, I’ll help if I can!
